Welcome. Ghobrial Goods is home to unique, high quality, hand-crafted products.

I’m Marina.

Through all my years of schooling, and all the years I’ve worked, if I had a pen and paper in my hand, I couldn’t help but doodle in the margins of every page. As I got older, my “doodles” became more sophisticated. Eventually, I stopped doodling in margins and started painting on canvases.

Using primarily oil-based paint pens, I approach a piece without much of a plan to start. I let my hand guide me as I break the canvas up into smaller sections, each one ultimately receiving its own identity. The goal is to create a mosaic of interwoven shapes, designs, and patterns. By the time I finish a piece, over 90% of the canvas is covered, with only the remaining 10% creating the canals in between. I revel in the treasure hunt that comes with each finished piece: fish scales here, bricks there, flower petals in the corner. Some were placed with great intention; others can’t be seen without the sum of its parts. Some pieces stand alone; others frame figurative objects or letters, giving them shape by decorating their surroundings. Some pieces are left raw in their black and white state; others are brought to life with color. Some pieces stay on the canvas; others are used as intricate details that decorate glassware for your home.

My goal is to help people and businesses find that perfect item: the perfect way to represent themselves or their business, the perfect gift for someone special, the perfect addition to fill the empty spot on their wall. Whatever *it* may be, I hope you find it here.

About me.

For most of my childhood, I wanted to be an Artist. But as I grew up and the pressures of life increased, I decided to take a more “practical” route. Doctor…Lawyer… Banker… all supposedly more prudent options became the goal. As time went on, the creative side of my brain sat idle while I eventually pursued a career in finance and operations. I worked in everything from global banks with 50,000+ employees, to startups with less than 40 people.

Finance was my career, but art was always my passion. Last year, I made the bold decision to leave my full-time job and pursue art. It’s been a wild ride so far, but I have loved every second of letting my creative brain run free. I love the creative process - from design to execution - and nothing feels better than seeing and hearing someone’s reaction when you’ve created something just for them.

I currently live in the Bay Area with my husband and our pup, Dax. When I’m not in the studio, you can find me hiking the gorgeous Marin hills or eating at some of my favorite restaurants.

Welcome to my art world. I’m so glad you’re here.
